June 7, 2004

Daddy's little helper is back...run for it!  Seriously tho, she can be fun to have around.  She's trying to remember how the cleco pliers work.

Alcobra Metals in north Spokane did have what I needed, so I picked up a piece of angle.  The first cut line to reproduce the blown left bracket is drawn.

Notice her hands are a little blurry?  She was dancing up a storm at this point...

First cut is down, I now have a piece the right width.

Cut down to size for the wings.

The 'lobe' cut is done.  The more I do of this stuff, the better I got.  It was a lot easier to make the cut after I tilted the bandsaw table.

The front spar doubler is cleco'd into place, and the spar attachment brackets are cleco'd on.  The angle that is clamped to the bottom of the brackets is to keep them square to each other when drilling the other holes.

Spar attachment brackets have been drilled, and the 8 holes in the center countersunk as per directions

The 9 holes that need to be countersunk in the spar flange have been taken care of.

It was starting to get a bit late, so I called it a night.  Monique is working out of town tomorrow night, so I'll be breaking it all down, deburring & priming.
