Aircraft Spruce

February 17, 2004

No pictures to show for today...same thing as yesterday.  Finished prepping and priming the various rudder parts.  Now I'm ready to start riveting.

The order from Aircraft Spruce came in, so I have my sealant for the rudder, additional AN426AD4-7 rivets (had to drill out a few too many in the early days), and my 3/32 cupped set.  Now I can finish the VS and pick up those two rivets that are blocked by the lower hinge bracket.

Took the fan down to the shop (should have taken a shot here) and put it in the window.  Usually after priming, you can smell it upstairs in the house, which I've hated.  With the fan running in the window blowing the air out, there's nary a whiff upstairs.  Woot!  I'll get a shot of this soon.

I've also decided to change my priming technique.  I've been using a spray table and nails to hold things off, etc.  I think I'm going to pick up some steel baling wire and use that to hang these things.  Should make it easier to handle.
